Coaching & mentoring qualifications & experience: 

Coaching and mentoring are a fantastic opportunity to have some time to focus on you in a non-judgemental space. I have a diploma in transformational coaching and I am a certified trauma-informed coach, having trained with Moving the Human Spirit who are the world leader in this area, specifically to support colleagues in Primary Care, where so much of our work can be traumatic. I am undertaking the Institute of Leadership & Management Level 7 Coaching & Mentoring for executive level clients. I have also undertaken mentoring training through the NHS Leadership Academy. I work as a coach and mentor in Primary Care over the East of England through Akeso, internationally as a trauma-informed coach through MTHS, and more widely with your 24-7 coach as well as with Conversations with Doctors. I am registered with the ICF and work to their ethical standards framework.

Career: 

I thrive on variety. I have had a portfolio career to date, including locum, salaried, partner, retainer and fellowship roles over the last 15 years as a doctor. I also work for the Primary Care Workforce Team as the Medical Lead in Norfolk & Waveney, looking in part at GP recruitment and retention. I am a Schwartz Rounds Facilitator and Steering Group member. I studied Medicine as a second degree and had a multitude of jobs before then, including medical sales, retail, pharmaceutical and care work. As a doctor I have worked in various locations over the country and have experience of in hours, out of hours, home working and a whole variety of GP options. I have interests in communication skills, wellbeing, health inequalities, lifestyle medicine and teaching. I am passionate about values, work place cultures and leading through kindness and compassion.

About me: 

I am a mum of four girls and a carer for my sister with dual diagnosis Down’s syndrome and Autism. I have too many pets to list although my chocolate labrador Cassie deserves a special mention! I grew up in London and trained in Manchester. I moved to Norfolk during the pandemic, whilst shielding and working in Liverpool. My career has evolved around the changing and, at times, challenging circumstances I have experienced. I’m aware of the demands of juggling numerous responsibilities both at work and at home. I switch off with walks on the beach, good food and great company.
